O filme de Costa Gravas sobre a especulação financeira é tão assustador como um filme de vampiros, a diferença é que quando o filme termina, lembramo-nos que os vampiris não existem.

Em 754 os Árabes iniciaram a conquista da Península Ibérica. Os Visigodos que ocupavam nesse momento a Península cuidavam mal do seu povo. Eram intolerantes, demasiado duros para com os escravos, cobravam pesados impostos e os seus lideres não eram respeitados pelos soldados. Quando chegaram os exércitos muçulmanos ninguém entre as hostes visigóticas se entregou à luta com firmeza, constituídas na sua generalidade por escravos e soldados mal-tratados. Depois da instalação do domínio mulçumano , os impostos baixaram, foi promovida a tolerância religiosa e a introdução de um modelo de regadio com novas plantas e técnicas permitiu ao povo, numa sociedade agrícola como aquela, viver melhor. Como resultado, os muçulmanos ficaram  5 séculos na península com o beneplácito das populações locais. Aliás o termo Aldeia é árabe.

Se algumas instituições financeiras são demasiado grandes para falirem (Too big to fail), por que as deixamos crescer tanto ?

É perfeitamente legitimo rir no trabalho. Não creio que tenham passado o congresso a rir. Mas imaginem-se à frente destes senhores, exatamente neste momento. Faz sentido, não faz ? Quando alguém durante a campanha eleitoral declarou que os portugueses não suportavam mais austeridade e a maioria acreditou. É de facto hilariante. Muito giro. Também não consigo parar de rir.
